Stronger in Song: Music that Builds Community
A collaboration between Resonate Choral Arts and Avery Hill Ukulele Studio
In hard times, we turn to each other for comfort, strength, and help, and we know that MUSIC reminds us that we are so much more than the mere sum of our parts!
Resonate’s treble chorus, Avery Hill's ukulele studio, soloists, guest artists, (and even the audience!) will band together to share songs to uplift and strengthen. We’ll be singing songs from the civil rights movement to the present day–world-famous songs to pieces written by local artists. There is power in our voices. That power is amplified when we raise them with others and for beauty and justice!
This concert is a benefit for AMP (Artist Mentorship Program,) a community music and art program for youth 15-24 years old who are experiencing homelessness in Portland, OR. AMP works to build healthy communication and relationships with these youth and support them while they navigate being homeless. AMP offers youth a place to express themselves through music and art in an environment that's goal is to be safe and drug and alcohol free.
Students from AMP will open this concert, and there will be a bake sale!
Suggested donation at the door is $20 or $15 for students/seniors.
